bcs alternatives for COI tracking

Published by Sublien LLC, which sells SubLien. bcs’s prices and plan contents are from its own site, checked October 25, 2026.

Quick answer

bcs’s free plan covers certificates of insurance for up to 25 vendors, its Self-Service plan is $0.95 per vendor a month, and its site doesn’t list lien waivers. SubLien tracks COIs too: subs upload from an emailed link with no account, the AI checks every coverage line against your minimums, reminders go out before each policy expires, and a named person on your team records the decision, from $199 a month for up to 25 active vendors. The same plan also collects each sub’s lien waivers, W-9 and signed agreements, so one vendor record holds everything you need before you pay.

COIs

Every certificate checked, and the call stays yours

A certificate summarizes coverage; your team decides what it means for the job. SubLien reads it, checks it, and records who decided.

  • Line by line against your minimums

AI reads the ACORD 25 row by row and checks each limit, endorsement box and date against your company, project and vendor minimums, beside the spot it read each value from.

  • One expiry date per coverage line

General liability can run to 2027 while the umbrella ends next month. Reminders follow the first line to run out, and can copy the insurance agent.

  • Ask the certificate a question

“Is the owner an additional insured?” The answer quotes the certificate, so your reviewer can check it in one look.

  • A named reviewer records the decision

Who approved what, and when, stays on the vendor record and in the audit log.

Moving your COIs off bcs

  1. Export your current certificates from bcs and keep them with your project files.

  2. Import the subs you work with now from a spreadsheet, Procore or QuickBooks Online. Only active vendors count toward your plan.

  3. Set your insurance minimums once: a company default, then any project or vendor that needs more.

  4. Request current certificates; each sub or its agent uploads from a secure link.

  5. Send the next draw’s lien waivers from the same vendor records.

Questions

Questions GCs ask when leaving bcs

Is bcs free?

For up to 25 vendors. bcs's pricing page calls its free plan "COI Tracking Software only", with unlimited users, integrations, detailed reports and technical support on Self-Service at $0.95 per vendor a month. SubLien starts at $199/month for up to 25 active vendors, with every feature on every plan: COI checks, lien waivers, W-9 collection, vendor documents and unlimited users.

Does bcs collect lien waivers?

bcs's site doesn't list lien waivers (checked October 25, 2026). SubLien collects lien waivers on the same vendor record as each sub's COI, W-9 and agreements, in the same plan.

Can a sub's insurance agent upload the certificate?

Yes. The sub or its agent uploads from a secure emailed link, with no account and no fee, and renewal reminders can copy the agent listed on the certificate.

Does SubLien decide whether a sub is properly insured?

No. AI checks each coverage line of the ACORD 25 against your minimums and shows where each value sits on the certificate; a named person on your team records the decision.

What happens to the certificates already in bcs?

Keep an export of them with your project files. In SubLien, import your vendor list, set your minimums once, and request current certificates; subs upload them from the link.
