Built alternatives for lien waivers

Published by Sublien LLC, which sells SubLien. Built’s price is from its own lien waiver page, checked October 25, 2026.

Quick answer

Built lists Lien Waiver Management at $1,000 a month, discounted when you process your payments through Built. If you pay subs from your own accounting system and just need the waivers collected, SubLien costs $199 a month for up to 25 active vendors with unlimited waivers: subs sign from an emailed link with no account, and reminders run until each waiver comes back. The same plan also collects each sub’s certificate of insurance, W-9 and signed agreements, so one vendor record holds everything you need before you pay.

What SubLien does

  • Your forms or ours

Upload the lien-waiver PDFs you use today and place the fields once, or use the SubLien library, which presents the template recorded for the project’s state and its sources.

  • Subs sign from an email link

No account and no portal. Reminders go out on days 3, 7 and 12 after sending, or days 7, 14 and 21 on the weekly schedule, and stop when the waiver comes back.

  • Procore and QuickBooks Online are optional

Connect one to draft waivers from Procore pay apps or QuickBooks bills, or run it entirely on email.

  • Evidence you can hand over

Each signed lien waiver carries a signature certificate and an independent cryptographic timestamp (RFC 3161), and anyone holding the PDF can check it on the public verify page.

Questions

Questions GCs ask when leaving Built

What does SubLien cost compared with Built?

Built's lien waiver page lists Lien Waiver Management at $1,000/month, with a discount when you process payments through Built. From $199/month or $1,990/year for up to 25 active vendors. Unlimited lien waivers, COI reviews, W-9 collection and vendor documents for your included vendors. Every plan includes unlimited lien waivers, users and projects.

Do I have to change how I pay my subs?

No. SubLien doesn't process payments. You keep paying subs by check, ACH or wire from your accounting system, and SubLien collects the conditional and unconditional waivers that go with each payment.

Can my subs sign without creating an account?

Yes. Subs sign from a secure emailed link with email verification and no account or fee, and reminders go out until the waiver comes back. Notarized forms and the Georgia, Mississippi and Wyoming SubLien library forms are signed on paper instead: the sub downloads the form from the same link and uploads the signed copy.

Can I keep the waiver forms I use today?

Yes. Upload your own lien-waiver PDFs and place the fields once, or use the SubLien library, which presents the template recorded for the project's state. Which form fits your transaction is your decision.

What happens to the waivers already signed in Built?

Export them and keep them with your project files; your history does not need to move. Send the next draw's waivers from SubLien.
